Network operating system (NOS)
The software a switch, router or firewall runs: Cisco IOS-XE (opens in a new tab) and NX-OS (opens in a new tab), Arista EOS (opens in a new tab), Junos (opens in a new tab), PAN-OS, FortiOS, SONiC (opens in a new tab) and others. Each has its own commands, configuration syntax and failure modes.
In REAP
REAP’s agents know each supported platform’s commands and output; coverage is stated per platform and version and confirmed per pilot for anything outside the supported list.
