Spanning tree (STP)
A Layer-2 protocol that blocks redundant switch links so frames cannot loop, and unblocks them when the active path fails.
In REAP
Root bridge, blocked ports and topology-change counters are evidence in campus and data-center incidents where a loop or a convergence event is suspected.
